Safe Use Of Restrained Ladders & Harnesses - Level 1 to 3

The safe use of restrained ladders and harnesses course includes training on roof ladder access too, and covers all levels from 1 to 3 in just 7 hours. Operatives who are required to use ladders that are restrained to buildings are the ones who will benefit from completing this course. Upon completion each delegate will recieve a training certificate which is valid for five years. This training course has both a practical and theory assessment on the day.

Aims and objectives of the course

The restrained ladders and harness course aims to provide information, instruction and training on the hazards and risks when using ladders at work, specifically when the need to use a harness is required. Control measures when working at height and fall prevention and fall protection will be discussed and taught in line with the current standards and UK legislation. The course is split into four sections as follows:

1. Basic Ladder Training - Covering ladder access and egress
2. Ladder Training Level 1 - The user wears a harness with a fall restraint lanyard as well as their general PPE
3. Ladder Training Level 2 - The delegate will be required to climb ladders when using a fall arrest system whilst carrying equipment up the ladder
4. Ladder Training Level 3 - This will cover pitched roof access from a connected ladder using rope and restraint techniques.

Each delegate who attends this training will require the correct equipment and PPE required to complete the training. The will require ladder safety kits which includes; full body two point harness, cowstall short restraint lanyard, cowstall short restraint lanyard, ladder bridle, restraint straps of 1.6 and 6.1m, 11m semi static rope with alloy scaffold hook, rope grab, choker strap for drills, ladder restraint anchors x2 and a heavy duty PVC kit bag.
